In 2019, Anne Vieux was commissioned by Meta Open Arts to create a site-specific installation for the Oculus campus in Menlo Park. Known for her fusion of digital and painterly languages, Vieux presented a series of physical paintings suspended on vinyl, creating the illusion of floating windows scattered across a desktop screen. The translucent layers and iridescent hues echoed the light-infused architecture of the space, while referencing the fluid boundaries between the virtual and physical. The work invited viewers to pause within a digitally saturated environment and consider how perception is shaped by screen-based realities. The resulting work resonated with the architecture’s emphasis on transparency and digital innovation—turning a corporate lobby (or plaza, corridor, etc.) into a reflective, meditative space that celebrates both technological energy and painterly warmth.
